St. Raphael’s Preschool
St. Raphael’s Preschool prepares the children as they begin their educational journey. Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills are developed through play and fun activities. The Preschool team provide enjoyable and challenging learning experience through Aistear and Síolta.
Our preschool is located on the grounds of St. Raphael’s National School. We cater for children from 2 years 9 months to school-going age (children must be toilet trained prior to starting) and the preschool session runs from 8.50AM-11.50AM.
We view the preschool as a learning community, with children as learners, parents as partners and early education practitioners as teachers. While in our service, your child will spend lots of time playing, because we believe it is through play that children learn. Your child will be encouraged to make choices and build their independence. Throughout the year, we will nurture your child’s social and emotional skills and support them in becoming empathetic, caring individuals. We will provide a range of experiences in music, drama and art that will inspire your child to be unique and creative. Your child will be encouraged to explore and widen their understanding of mathematics, science and technology. Your child’s language and literacy skills will be fostered through conversations, story and a literacy rich environment.
We offer “Free Pre-School year in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Programme” and the “Community Childcare Subvention (CCS) Scheme”. For further information on these Government initiatives, or to check which scheme for child is eligible for, please contact the preschool manager on 086-6096132.
